April 12th: Raising the “perfect” child with Rusty Kennedy

Rusty NAMB

Rusty was my youth minister all during my growing up years:)  He has spent the majority of his career working with young people.

Rusty Kennedy would describe himself as a new creation. He typically stops there at that introduction because he realizes this is the only thing that actually matters when people inquire about his life. What he has or what he does is just part of the journey he is choosing to take with his relationship with Jesus. Along this journey, Rusty has one wife, Michelle, and she truly partners with him in raising and loving their two kids, their son, Cory and daughter, Chloe. Cory, is a Freshman at Oklahoma Baptist University and Chloe is in the 7th grade at Hamilton Southeastern Junior High in Fishers, IN where the Kennedys live.

Rusty and Michelle choose to walk by the Spirit of God’s leading and it has led them on a crazy adventure. Rusty leads a nonprofit ministry called Leavener in Fishers and serves as a chaplain for the Town of Fishers. Although his ministry is locally focused it has begun to spread across the country as he seeks to walk through whatever doors the Lord may be opening. The main focus of Leavener is to help people (individuals and families) through crisis and difficult seasons of their lives. One of Rusty’s joys, aside from family and baseball, is the opportunity to teach the Bible every Sunday at Louie’s Pub in Pinheads Bowling/Family Center.

Rusty is looking forward to sharing with our Mom 2 Mom group and talking about how to raise the perfect child.
